Dampeners-Stiffeners are precision ground flat (not dished) disks mounted on the saw arbor next to the blade. They are highly recommended for all the blades on this sheet because they stop "whistling" and blade vibration caused by belts or motor imbalance. A dampener-stiffener can improve the cut of any blade and reduce noise by 50%. Only one disk is necessary, not two.
